  2. The IP Media Server: A Buyer's Guide

    01/26/2010 - Webinar

What do telecommunication services like multimedia conferencing, audio/video ringback tones, hosted VoIP communications, unified messaging, or IP contact centers all have in common? The answer is all these applications, and many more, share a need for IP audio and video media packet processing. The device in an IP network that delivers this capability is the IP media server, and as the telecom industry continues its multi-year migration from circuit-switched to IP-based NGN architectures including IMS, the role of IP media servers will only continue to grow.

Please join RadiSy' Ray Adensamer as he provides an overview of the IP media server product category, and how these service platforms deliver the scalability and economics to support a broad range of modern voice and video applications in an IP-based communications network. The webinar will include evaluation criteria for selecting an IP media server product for your next application, benefits for both IP communication application developers and service providers, and the top 10 questions to ask when selecting an IP media server vendor.

    Time: 7:00am PT, 10:00am ET, 4:00pm CET

  3. Leveraging ATCA to Meet the Evolving DPI Needs of Next-Generation Networks

    01/21/2010 - Webinar

Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) has been gaining more attention as traditional networks migrate to all-IP networks. The demand for DPI capability will continue to grow as service providers upgrade their networks and as customers continue to use more and more bandwidth-hogging services. Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) must be able to deliver the higher throughput and bandwidth solutions for DPI that these services require, and all while facing the significant time-to-market requirements for these high performance solutions.

Service providers have already deployed first generation DPI equipment to control P2P traffic, preventing network intrusions. They have also implemented network access control based on identity and policy using either separate external appliances or integrated into the network elements such as xGSN, various aggregators and others. With enhanced DPI capabilities, service providers will be able to monitor and bill for advanced value-added service usage, contributing to increasing subscriber ARPU.

In this webinar, RadiSys and Cavium Networks will delve into the specifics on the types of packet inspection required for next generation infrastructure as well as explore specific implementation choices for achieving multi-gigabit throughput of DPI within the network element architecture designs. Speakers will discuss both current and next generation OCTEON processor solutions, underlying technologies such as HFA (Hyper Finite Automata) and DPI application software available for state of the art performance. By leveraging ATCA and AMC architectures, TEMs can take advantage of commercial off-the-shelf software, platforms and blades to achieve DPI functions including lawful intercept, policy definition and enforcement, traffic management, quality of service, tiered services, security, protocol detection analysis, carrier usage analysis and copyright enforcement.
